Maintenance and Facilities Supervisor

Summary:
Reporting to the Technical Manufacturing Manager, the Maintenance & Facilities Supervisor is responsible for managing and coordinating the day-to-day maintenance, repair and cleaning of buildings, grounds, and associated production equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
Monitor and ensure the integrity and functionality of critical systems such as fire suppression systems, electrical, HVAC, Plumbing, Garden and Landscaping, interior and exterior finishes, etc.
Institute and supervise preventative maintenance programs, ensure assigned employees are trained in job functions.
Understand and follow federal, state, and local regulations. (OSHA/CALOSHA, International Building Code 2009, NFPA 70, NFPA 70E, NFPA 51B, NFPA 101, NFPA 80, NFPA 90A, NSF, ISO)
Provide leadership, direction, and work assignments to Control Technicians and Maintenance Technicians.
Process internal requisitions for maintenance.
Manage contractors when onsite doing repairs.
Use CMMS to document and schedule maintenance tasks and manage inventory safety stock of all required parts.
Schedule PM's and equipment repairs with appropriate department manager(s).
Provide off shift support (on call 24hr) for all facility required maintenance.
Oversee and participate in the timely implementation of preventative maintenance procedures to maintain efficiency and safety of operations.
Source quotes for any repairs unable to be done in-house.
Work with facilities team to prioritize requests.
Implement, sustain and maintain 5s standards.
Manage projects that are facilities-related, such as dock doors, lighting, electrical and structural repairs
Manage and direct day to day activities of direct reports
Responsible for hiring and training direct reports
Support, coach and discipline direct reports as needed
Monitor and evaluate employee job performance
Participate in the preparation and administration of the facility maintenance budget.
Submit recommendations, monitor expenditures, prepare cost estimates, submit justification for projects and facilitate the development of support documentation for projects.
Qualifications:
Minimum 5 years facilities maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
Minimum 3 years supervisory experience
Associates degree or higher in Facilities Management or an applicable technical or engineering field. An equivalent combination of professional work experience and related education will be considered in place of a degree.
Communication, Leadership, and organization
Team / Time / Contractor / Budget management
Base knowledge in Industrial electrical, plumbing, HVAC & PLCs
Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, PowerPoint
AutoCAD
Computerized maintenance management software
Self-motivated and self-directed
Accurate and precise attention to detail
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work in a team environment, assisting team members when needed to accomplish goals
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
Travel:
Extensive travel to the Sebastopol manufacturing plant and corporate office in California will be required in the first few months for training purposes
Physical/Mental Requirements:
Works primarily in the manufacturing facilities and must follow GMP requirements and safety precautions for each area
Ability to maneuver around an array of equipment, bend, stoop, climb stairs, work in a cold environment some of the time
Work surfaces and floors may be wet. Employees are required to wear approved shoes and protective equipment.
Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs.
Standing on a concrete floor, reaching, bending, stooping, and repetitive hand movements may be required. Moving machinery, including conveyor and forklifts are in operation in the immediate area.
Ability to work beyond regular business hours and weekends, and holidays as needed
Compensation:
Starting at $90,000 annual
